Roof Soft Wash

Those black streaks running down nearly every roof in Lakewood Ranch, Bradenton, and Sarasota are not dirt, and they are not stains from rainwater. They are colonies of a cyanobacteria called Gloeocapsa magma — a single-celled organism that eats the limestone filler in asphalt shingles and the porous surface of concrete, clay, and metal tiles. The only correct method is to kill the organism chemically with a properly diluted sodium hypochlorite + surfactant blend applied at under 100 PSI, let it dwell, then rinse with low-volume water.
